Reiko Aylesworth, born December 9, 1972 in Evanston, Illinois, is of Welsh, Japanese and Dutch ancestry. After studying Neuroscience in University of Washington and appearing in several theatre productions in Seattle, Reiko decided to make acting a professional career. Her first TV appearance is on the soap “One Life to Live,” followed by numerous guest roles on TV shows, including “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” “Now and Again,” “Law & Order,” “The West Wing,” and “Ed.”
Since 2000, Reiko Aylesworth has appeared on several feature films like “You’ve Got Mail,” “Random Hearts,” and “Man on the Moon.” Aylesworth has also appeared on the season 5 premiere of “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.” However, Reiko became popular for landing the role of Michelle Dessler in the hit Fox series “24,” which she played from seasons 2 to 5. Reiko’s character was so loved that when Dessler was supposed to be written off the show by the end of season 3, fans objected and successfully urged the producers to keep her.
After leaving 24, Reiko Aylesworth starred in the 2007 film “Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem” and a seven-episode guest appearance on “ER.” She also appeared on the made-for-TV movie “Magma: Volcanic Disaster,” lent her voice for the video game adaptation of 24 entitled “24: The Game,” and guest-starred in the NBC drama series “Conviction.” In 2009, Reiko started appearing as Amy on “Lost.”
Reiko Aylesworth discovered her love for acting on stage when she joined the “West Side Story” production in 1988. Since then, she has participated in over a dozen plays, including “Invisible Friends,” “Peter Pan,” “The Gut Girls,” “One Hundred Gates,” “Cheap Sentiment,” “Missing/Kissing,” “Robbers,” “Humpty Dumpty,” “Top Girls,” “The Fearless” and “Expats.”
Although Reiko Aylesworth has starred on both TV shows and feature films, she prefers roles in independent films, such as “The Killing Floor,” “No Deposit, No Return,” “Buzzkill,” “The Understudy” and “The Assistants.”
